Lexis South Korea, Korean schools in Busan and Seoul (Gangnam)
Lexis Korea teaches Korean to adults on two campuses in our catalogue, one in Busan, the other in the heart of Seoul. Here is who they are, how they teach, what sets them apart, and the two campuses we offer.
Who is Lexis South Korea?
On its official website, Lexis Korea presents itself as a provider of Korean language and culture programmes for international students, with campuses in Seoul and Busan. The website states that teaching is provided by Lexis Language Academy, and student services by the Lexis Support Center.
The group states that it has been honoured twice, in 2014 and in 2023, with the ST Star Award “World Language School”, and brings together more than 3,000 learners worldwide. These figures and distinctions are those of the group’s website, which we have not verified ourselves. Lexis Korea belongs to the same family of brands as Lexis Australia, whose English schools we also present.
How they teach
The group’s website speaks of immersive programmes, which combine language lessons and discovery of Korean culture, with a team that supports each student in a personalised way, whether the goal is an intensive academic pathway or conversational Korean for travelling, working or living there.
In our catalogue, Korean courses come in two daily paces: an intensive course of 25 lessons per week and a standard course of 15 lessons per week, of 60 minutes each, on both campuses. Added to these are two 4-week courses on fixed dates: an evening course (Monday to Thursday, 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.) and a Saturday morning course (9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.).
What sets Lexis South Korea apart
- Two very different cities. Seoul, with the Gangnam campus, which the group’s website describes as one of the best-known fashion and leisure districts in Asia; Busan, a seaside city on the south coast, with its beaches, its fish market and its more relaxed atmosphere.
- Campuses designed for study. In Seoul, 31 classrooms, three lounges and two computer rooms over three floors; in Busan, a floor of the DS Tower, opposite Jeonpo Cafe Street.
- A third campus outside our catalogue. The group’s website also mentions a campus in Hongdae (Seoul): it has no page with us for now.
Its programmes, and for whom
In our catalogue, courses are intended for adults from age 18, on both campuses: intensive Korean (25 lessons per week), standard Korean (15 lessons per week), TOPIK preparation, IELTS preparation (20 lessons per week), evening course and Saturday course (4-week sessions, monthly departures). The intensive, standard, TOPIK and IELTS courses are priced from 1 to 52 weeks.
The group’s website states that the Gangnam campus also welcomes young people; these programmes are not part of our adult catalogue.
