FAQ

Frequently asked questions before going to learn Korean

A quick read to frame your project before comparing the destinations and schools available.

Where can you study Korean with Move and Study?

At the moment: Busan, Seoul. Each city has its own page, with its schools, so you can compare the setting and the course options before you decide.

Do you need to read Hangul before you go?

It is not required, but it saves time. The Korean alphabet has only 24 basic letters and can be learned in a few days. If you can already read when you arrive, signs, menus and course materials make sense from the first week.

What is TOPIK, and can you prepare for it in Korea?

TOPIK is the official test of Korean. It has six levels and is required by Korean universities and many employers. Test dates are fixed: tell us which one you are aiming for and we will check whether your school prepares for it.

How long should you allow to learn Korean?

Longer than for most European languages: the grammar, the word order and the levels of politeness work very differently. A month is enough to read, introduce yourself and manage day to day. For real conversation, aim for a term or more.
