A pre-university programme at an English college, for 1 term or 1 semester, between English lessons, A-levels or vocational subjects with British students.

A pre-university programme at an English college

The programme at Chichester College makes it possible to study at an English college with British students, to discover new fields of study and to improve in your favourite subjects.

This experience lies halfway between secondary school and university. It prepares pupils for higher education while strengthening their English, their working method and their independence.

Chichester, the city and the college

Chichester is located in a very beautiful natural region, near the south coast of England, between Brighton and Southampton, and close to the South Downs National Park.

The city has around 125 000 inhabitants. Its cultural and historical heritage, its preserved Georgian architecture and its 11th-century cathedral make it a pleasant, safe destination that is conducive to study. London can be reached in around 90 minutes by train.

Chichester College is set in extensive grounds, only 10 minutes' walk from the station, the city centre, the shops and the city's attractions. The college takes around 7 500 British students and 200 international students across its various programmes.

Programmes and subjects

In England, the last two years of schooling can follow an academic A-level pathway or a vocational pathway. Chichester College offers international students tailor-made programmes allowing them to take A-level or vocational subjects with English students, without the stress of the final exam.

College Experience

  • 2 general A-level subjects, more theoretical, or 1 vocational subject, more practical.
  • At least 6 hours of English with the international students, depending on the timetable.
  • Access to sports lessons.
  • Certain subjects may require an interview, a portfolio or a level test.

High School Experience

  • 3 general A-level subjects.
  • At least 6 hours of English with the international students, depending on the timetable.
  • Access to sports lessons.

Personal study is important: students should allow at least 4 to 5 hours per week per subject.

Campus, activities and student life

The campus has modern facilities: rooms fitted with interactive whiteboards, a multimedia centre with more than 150 computers, a library, a theatre, a multi-purpose sports centre, a large fitness room, sports fields, beauty and hair salons, a Student Union, a cafeteria, a coffee shop and shops.

Students can take part in the college's sports clubs: badminton, football, netball, running, cross country, athletics, rugby or volleyball. Other clubs are offered, in particular film, drama or cookery.

Activities are also organised for the international students: international evenings, sports meetings, theatre evenings and excursions to London, Brighton or other tourist sites in the region.
