The English-speaking part is mainly in the west and represents around 70 % of the population. The French-speaking part is more to the east and represents around 30 % of the population. This cultural diversity makes it an authentic destination for experiencing a Canadian school immersion.

The New Brunswick International Student Program is run by Atlantic Education International Inc., an organisation created in 1997 by the province of New Brunswick.
The programme is known for the quality of its teaching. New Brunswick has the best consistent secondary school graduation rate in Canada. The education system is the same throughout the province, with 36 high schools spread across the territory.
Stays can last a 16-week term, a 5-month semester or a 10-month school year.
Students choose 5 subjects per semester, that is 10 subjects for a full year. English support lessons are offered to students whose level is below B2. The NBISP chooses the school according to the student's profile, priorities and interests.
The New Brunswick International Student Program does not place the student in a school chosen in advance by default: the school is selected according to the participant's profile, priorities and interests.
Every school has modern facilities and offers sporting, artistic and social activities. The local coordinator organises one activity a month.
The district also offers three optional trips a year, for example to Niagara Falls, Quebec City or the Rocky Mountains.
The families are selected by the district's accommodation managers. They are warm and welcome young people as a member of their family.
They look after the student's safety, well-being and support during the stay, in a living environment that is conducive to integration and to progress in English.
During the stay, the student benefits from the help and support of the local coordinator. This person also takes part in the selection of the host family.
The coordinator answers questions, provides the necessary assistance and becomes the main point of contact during the programme.
