The Linguaviva centre is on the Adriatic coast, in the north-east of Italy, and welcomes young teenagers on Italian language courses in a superb modern building. The school offers a sunny setting, between the azure sea and a lush pine forest, and has many leisure facilities: basketball, volleyball and football pitches, tennis courts, a swimming pool and a private beach. Italian classes are given 5 mornings a week, from Monday to Saturday, and young people love these open-air classes, because in summer the Linguaviva school sets up its classrooms outdoors.

Young people take Italian classes in the morning and take part in a varied programme of activities in the afternoons. The activities on offer include sports such as basketball, volleyball and football, as well as tennis lessons. Young people can also enjoy the swimming pool and the private beach. The school
The Linguaviva school in Lignano has been a centre for learning Italian for young people from all over the world for more than 20 years. Set in sumptuous surroundings between the azure sea and a lush pine forest, the school offers classes in the shade and coolness of the pine grove. The centre also has many facilities to make young people's stay exciting, such as sports pitches, a swimming pool and a private beach. Every afternoon and at weekends, the school offers a varied leisure programme, including sports activities such as volleyball, football, tennis and swimming, as well as cookery workshops, Italian songs, evening walks in town and disco nights.
The programme
In summer, young people can take 20 Italian lessons per week spread over five mornings from Monday to Saturday, while the afternoons and evenings are devoted to sporting and leisure activities. An excursion is also organised each week to discover the nearby cities of Venice, Trieste, Verona or a theme park. Participants are grouped according to their level of Italian during classes and by age group during activities, with suitable supervision.
The accommodation
Accommodation is full board in rooms with two, three or four beds with an en-suite bathroom, allocated according to the young people's age and mother tongue to encourage an international mix. Meals are taken at the centre and a packed lunch is provided on excursion days.
