LEARN ENGLISH, WORK IN CANADA

VGC International College, as a member of the Languages Canada consortium, is proud to be authorised to offer work and travel opportunities to eligible people through the International Experience Canada (IEC) programme.
The International Experience Canada (IEC) programme gives young people the opportunity to travel and work in Canada for one or two years, depending on their citizenship. Participants are asked to enrol on our Global English language programme for a minimum of 12 weeks in order to improve their command of English. With a working holiday visa, participants can start gaining valuable work experience as soon as they arrive in Canada.

 Participants have free access to our study lab/writing centre and can attend weekly workshops for personal support throughout their course. If accommodation is needed, VGC's host family department is also available to help find suitable options.

WHAT IS THE VGC WORKING HOLIDAY PROGRAMME?

VGC provides participants with a sponsorship letter for the working holiday visa through the IEC programme along with a minimum of 12 weeks of full English tuition. But that is not all: with this package, we prepare you for the job market with specialist courses such as English in the workplace and our job search class, which trains you for your interview, reworks your CV and makes sure you fully understand the expectations of the Canadian workplace. What is more, our package includes additional services such as workshops, after-school activities and personal support in several languages, giving students every key to success.

The IEC programme is an initiative of the federal government of Canada aimed at promoting cultural exchange between Canada and partner countries. It invites people aged between 18 and 35 to come and work and travel in Canada in order to:
• Gain valuable international work experience
• Improve their language skills
• Work in Canada and fund the trip of a lifetime

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR THE IEC PROGRAMME?

Here are the general eligibility criteria for taking part in the IEC programme. You must meet ALL the required criteria to obtain a work permit.

• Be between 18 and 35 years old
• Be a citizen of a country or territory that has a youth mobility arrangement (YMA) with Canada, including the working holiday visa option
• Not bring dependent family members to Canada
• Provide proof of funds of at least 2 500 $ to cover expenses in Canada
• Provide proof of insurance for the duration of the stay in Canada
• Not be inadmissible to Canada
• Present a return ticket or proof of sufficient funds to cover your departure from Canada at the end of your authorised stay
• Have paid the programme and enrolment fees to VGC International College
