The stay in detail
The programme
The programme offered by the IELS school in Sliema is packed with activities for teenagers. After the English classes, participants can enjoy a wide choice of sporting, cultural, creative and fun activities to suit every temperament. Excursions to discover the island of Malta, outdoor games, relaxing on the beach, team sports and the Welcome Party organised every Monday to encourage young people to meet each other are all ways to have fun and make friends.
The school
The main IELS English school in Sliema is located in a safe and lively seafront district and has been well known for more than 25 years. It has 60 bright classrooms, a relaxation room and a large courtyard where students can have their midday meal and chat in English. The teachers and group leaders are available 24/7 to look after young people's wellbeing, their progress in English and their personal development during their language course. Young people following the "Club" programme and staying with a family take their classes at a private Maltese school in the residential district of Prembroke.
The accommodation
For accommodation, three full-board options are offered to participants. The host families, selected by the IELS school, offer young people comfortable accommodation in the Sliema area for total immersion in Maltese culture. The "Club" residence welcomes teenagers during the summer holidays in the St Paul's Bay district, a few minutes' walk from the beach, in rooms of 4 with a private bathroom and air conditioning. The "City" residence, right in the centre of Sliema, offers comfortable, modern rooms for 2 to 4 people, very well equipped with a bathroom and air conditioning.
VISITING SLIEMA
Sliema is an ideal destination for a language course that combines studying English with relaxing. This seaside town is 5 km from Valletta, the capital of the island of Malta, and offers a particularly favourable climate, golden sandy beaches and crystal-clear water, between picturesque side streets and the seafront. Sliema is a very lively town and very pleasant to live in.
