Junior language courses in Bad Schussenried with Humboldt

THE ACTIVITIES

Participants have access to all of the school's many sports, leisure and wellbeing facilities: indoor swimming pool, mini-golf, sports pitches, climbing wall and sauna. Also available to them are several rooms for creative workshops in silk and glass painting, wood and soapstone carving, as well as a games area with table football, billiards and a table tennis table.

At weekends, excursions organised by the school introduce them to the tourist and natural treasures of the region as well as the surrounding towns. 

The programme

The German classes are given at a rate of 25 lessons for 10-13 year olds and 30 lessons per week for 14-17 year olds. One-to-one lessons are also available (price on request). In addition to the German classes, young people have the option of taking exam preparation classes for the TELC, level A1, A2, B1 or B2. The language classes are complemented by various sporting and artistic activities or by cultural visits around the city, or excursions to Munich, Constance or Lindau for example. Students can do handicrafts in the rooms set aside for craftwork, or artistic work such as glass painting and wood carving. Those who prefer slightly more sporting activities can go mountain biking and take part in the rally. 

The accommodation

Students are housed in the boarding house located in one of the modern buildings on the school site. The double rooms have a magnificent view over the school grounds or the city. They have a bathroom with shower, a toilet and a balcony. All meals are included and are taken on site in the school cafeteria. The school takes care to place students in rooms according to their age, their mother tongue and their level of German so as to encourage them to practise outside class.

Bad Schussenried, a historic town in the south-west of Germany, is renowned for the richness of its architectural and cultural heritage, the beauty of its pastoral landscapes and its spa treatments specialising in mud baths. Between the Danube, the Iller and Lake Constance, a stay in Bad Schussenried is a real breath of fresh air and a boost to your health. There is no shortage of opportunities for walks and cultural visits either in this historic town, which is home to a great many monuments as well as a splendid 12th-century abbey and its impressive baroque library.
