Kings Education, English schools in Brighton, Bournemouth, London, Boston and New York
Kings Education offers English courses for ages 16 and over, in the United Kingdom and the United States. Here is who they are, how they teach, what sets them apart, and the seven centres we offer.
Who is Kings Education?
Kings Education presents itself as an international education organisation devoted mainly to university pathways for 16-22 year-olds: every year, students from more than 60 countries join it before entering major British, American or other universities. It also offers English courses for adults and young learners.
Its English offer for ages 16 and over is available in the United Kingdom (Brighton, Bournemouth, London) and the United States (Boston, New York), in schools located in city centres or on university campuses. The British activities are run by Prime Education Colleges Limited, headquartered in Brighton.
How they teach
The core of the offer is an English “Diploma”, general (20 lessons per week) or intensive (28 lessons), complemented by preparation for IELTS, Cambridge exams or TOEFL and, depending on the centre, “English Plus” or university preparation courses. Students learn in class and outside, thanks to the activities and excursions of the social programme.
An online level test assigns each student their “Kings Level” and directs them to suitable courses. For the Diploma of Intensive English, Kings announces a progress guarantee: if the agreed level is not reached, and provided the student has attended all classes and handed in all assignments, the student can continue free of charge until reaching it.
What sets Kings Education apart
- A progress guarantee. For the Diploma of Intensive English, the agreed level is reached, or study continues at no cost (attendance conditions to be read with the school).
- British accreditations. The Brighton and Bournemouth schools are accredited by the British Council, members of English UK and inspected by Ofsted.
- University campuses in the United States. In Boston (Fisher College) and New York (University of Mount Saint Vincent), classes take place on campus, in contact with American students.
- A real choice of accommodation. Host families, residences on site or in town, summer residences: each centre offers several options, detailed below.
