CLIC, Spanish schools in Cádiz, Málaga and Seville, in Andalusia
CLIC has taught Spanish to foreigners since 1983, in three cities of Andalusia. Here is who they are, how they teach, what sets them apart, their courses and the three schools we offer.
Who is CLIC?
CLIC International House is a group of Spanish-as-a-foreign-language schools founded in Seville in 1983 by Bernhard Roters, of German origin. Its presentation page recounts the opening of a centre in Cádiz in 2004, with Francisco Herrera, then that of a centre in Málaga in 2017, run by Blanca Roters, the founder’s daughter.
The group is part of the International House network. It states that it is an accredited centre of the Instituto Cervantes, a member of IALC (the international association of language centres) and holds International House’s quality inspection label for 2026-2029.
The schools welcome students from more than 60 countries: some thirty nationalities mix in class and in activities. CLIC also supports Museke, an association helping children in Rwanda and Burundi, to which the school donates part of the course fees.
We offer its three centres: Cádiz, Málaga and Seville.
How they teach
The official website describes an “innovative and personalised” method, summed up by a motto: communicate, engage, act. The idea is to get the student speaking and taking part, in class as well as in the activities offered outside.
In our catalogue, group courses run in lessons of 50 minutes, at three paces: intensive (20 lessons per week), intensive 25 and super intensive (30 lessons). The 20-lesson intensive course is the reference. Courses can be taken for one week or several. The official website gives neither class size nor detailed levels for these courses.
The school states that all its teachers are well trained, without giving their number or qualifications.
What sets CLIC apart
- Three cities of Andalusia, one school. Seville, Cádiz and Málaga: the same house, three atmospheres, and the possibility of choosing the city that suits your stay.
- Premises in the city centre. The group describes spacious, bright, air-conditioned classrooms equipped with modern equipment, and a cafeteria with an Andalusian patio serving local dishes.
- A steady cultural programme. In Seville, the month’s programme includes for example a visit of the historic centre every Monday, language exchange evenings, excursions to Granada or the Andalusian countryside; some activities are paid, others not.
- A recognised network. Accreditation by the Instituto Cervantes, member of International House and of IALC.
Its programmes, and who they are for
For adults and from age 16, according to the Synergee catalogue: group Spanish courses (intensive 20, intensive 25, super intensive 30), private lessons (5, 10 or 20 lessons per week), semi-private courses (5, 10 or 20 lessons per week), SIELE exam preparation, Spanish with a work placement, Spanish and field hockey, as well as Spanish and surfing in Cádiz and Spanish and flamenco in Seville.
The official website also presents other courses (DELE exam preparation, evening courses in Seville, “Spanish for Foodies” in Cádiz) which are not in our catalogue; we do not present them here. The group also offers English and teacher training, which fall outside this page.
