I really enjoyed my time with the school. The teachers were well organized and the classrooms well equipped. Stuff is very friendly and overall it had a family atmosphere.

I loved my week at the Accademia Italiano and so wished I could stay longer. Probably two to three weeks would have been ideal. I was so impressed with the standard of teaching and knowledge of the two teachers I had (Margherita for the morning and Pina for the extra one-hour afternoon class). In addition to learning a lot, we also had a lot of fun - the other students were also great. When we stopped for morning coffee I asked others how they experienced learning in their class, and they all expressed something similar to the way we felt about ours. The private one-on-one class with Pina was just as enjoyable in a different way as I was able to go over a lot of material I had been having problems with. I just wish I could transport you guys to Australia for a while. Thanks so much for the effort you put in to make our Italian experience so rewarding.
Forgot to mention that the location of the school is very central and pleasingly just one street back from the sea, close to the ferry terminal and lots of great little restaurants and shops. Daily trips to other towns and villages were organised by the Accademia, principally to the lovely little towns along the Amalfi Coast but also to Pompeii and Salerno itself, all most enjoyable. Salerno is a lovely city, not nearly as overridden with tourists and tourists traps as, say, Amalfi, Positano and Capri. I felt absolutely at home and totally safe.

I wanted homestay accommodation because I thought it would help my Italian and I liked the idea of homecooked meals. The school organised this for me at relatively short notice and I liked the place I was assigned, except for the vertical climb each evening. I'm sure my fitness levels were boosted considerably. My landlady was very friendly, but knew how to give me space when I needed it, took pains to help me with my Italian, and she was a great cook.

I spent three wonderful, enriching weeks at Accademia Italiana in Salerno. I was impressed by everyone at the school from the teachers, to the various staff members who organized cultural outings and lectures, as well as helping me with housing. Everyone was knowledgeable, professional, welcoming, and passionate about helping me improve my Italian language skills and knowledge of the Italian culture, history and all that lovely Salerno has to offer. Thank you to everyone at Accademia Italiana.

I studied two weeks at Accademia Salerno and I think the school and the city are an excellent environment for learning Italian.
Firstly a big thank you to my teachers Dario, Rachele, and Margherita. In each week we focused on one particular grammatical concept then they built conversion/discussion around that. They use electronic “whiteboards” extensively and I thought that was useful aid to learning.
The staff are all very dedicated, each person looking after a specific function of the school and they work as a team.
The apartment the school setup for me was a 1-minute walk from the school in the historic city center.
I did several of the excursions. The highlight was the cooking class at what turned out to be the best restaurant of my visit to Italy. Overall Salerno is a real foodie town and there are excellent restaurants serving locally-sourced food. It’s possible to make your own trips in the afternoons after school to some of the towns on the Amalfi coast by boat, to the archeological sites at Pompeii and Paestum, and to Napoli.

I came to Accademia Salerno to continue to improve my knowledge of the Italian language. The staff here go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. They were always ready and willing to answer any questions or concerns.
In addition to the classes guided excursions are available. I did not personally go on any but other students enjoyed them very much. My teacher Margherita is outstanding. She keeps a nice pace and rhythm going in the class. In addition to teaching the curriculum she allows her students to ask questions and turns them into teachable moments. She has a great sense of humor too!! I highly recommend Accademia Italiana!
